For my club tournaments, I had some good fish in the all day rainy days on the Potomac River. What is the number one change you make on a rainy day?

Brain, I struggle with bringing too much tackle on the fishing trips as a co angler in club tournaments. I’m trying to be prepared for all situations since I don’t get to chose the spots. Last year, I got better and took baits that have multiple uses. The drop shot will always work.

Brian, in the spring and summer I use a white spinner bait with two willow leaf blades and a white mister twister teeny tail trailer. I use it in the grass on the Potomac River and catch largemouth bass. My problem is the catfish like it also and they wreck my spinnerbaits up. Large cats like 10-20lbs. Two questions, what could I change to help with just bass and do you try to fix your spinnerbaits when damaged or just give up?

Heavy spinnerbaits and spoons into the winds. Fish humps and wish you had a spot lock trolling motor.

Yes it was. Used your advice and all fish caught in 4-5 feet depth on the sunny side.

Brian, thank you for getting us excited for winter time fishing. You gave us the information to get us started or to start improving our possibilities. I enjoy listening to you and your enthusiasm. Don’t ever apologize for honest answers to honest questions. There are no hurt feelings reports to be written. I want you to answer my question directly not some middle of the road everyone is happy thought process. Not a sermon, just a thought. 😀👍🎣

So for winter fishing , once you catch a bass stay there since they are schooling?

If you are catching fish other than bass is that a good sign?
