What lakes are you referring to? I've fished mainly Sinclair, Juliette, and the the Ocmulgee River. Oh and Javors Lucas Lake.

I'd definitely say 7 to 10...... Unless I get a nibble. Then it's on and popping. But I will always throw a few more times once at the ramp.
