That is such a neat design of skin on that fish, that's cool you have the opportunity to fish that river for those!!

1. I liked the break down when he was talking about the visibility of the water vs what colors then he goes after and uses. Such as 1ft, 1ft to 3ft, and then beyond 3ft.

2. Last thing for me was that he mentioned but didn't dive into real deep was the corelation of the line to the bait I believe is how he stated it. A bit more info on what he specifically looks for in the line area would be cool.

A FUN LIVE IT WAS! I just started fishing a jig this year so this live was a bunch of gold nuggets for sure.

Thank you for teaching! This is the only social media thing I am apart of. So you must be doing good things! I am grateful I stumbled into your youtube videos a few years back and also grateful that you and your crew put that online tournament together. Gave me a reason to get into a competitive mindset again! This whole SUF school and community is pretty awesome... Thank you sir!

I am now in agreement with you after I educated myself a little more on this topic and issued my correction with my first post.  LOL!  Love your reply to Tim's question!

Got to make a couple corrections and a statement about my original post. I actually stated the wrong rod I used for the Flick Shake. It's a St Croix but it's a 7'1" Victory medium/heavy fast action rod. And I got a lews Custom XP baitcaster for the reel. (To early in the morning when I was typing the first post.) This rig works great for what I put it together for BUT.. . Now for something I just learned from watching an BFS break down with Mike Iaconelli that had a guest on that knows that technique real well to explain it for folks. I was wrong on what I thought BFS means I believe now. Sounds like a person that goes after the technique, mainly uses ultralight everything! Special BFS reels, ultralight rods, tiny baits and lighter type lines. I have no experience with what this video is telling me about what BFS fishing really is!! Lol 😅 so sorry on that Tim! Glad I learned something though!

I think I can speak alittle to this. It is a new technique/system to me and learned it this spring. I had a St Croix Triumph rod I acquired I didn't know what to do with. I believe it's a 6', medium/fast rod. I came across a video of Ben Miliken talking about a "Flick Shake" he called it. So I used this rod for this purpose. I believe the set up and technique he was talking about fits this BFS idea. I put 12lb test on a lews baitcaster I bought specifically for this and used it off and on this summer and a little this fall. I think the real magic is in the bait I used, I did follow Ben's advice and bought the hooks and plastics he suggested and it is super fun to use and did have success using it! I can see and have verified this being a great technique around wood! Here is a link to the video, I believe it's the 4th set up in the video where he talks about the deal. https://youtu.be/rXULSoPsoiU?si=1iAmsWLjimYUETpS

I may be in for one of those. That was a great idea. I have two of those Blat rods and fully enjoy them, best spinning rod I have been able to fish with. Excited to see what you come up with!

Oh boy.. Seems to be alot of changes and things going on in the fishing world don't it!? What a drama filled year or two it has been.
