I'd say for that lake a jerkbait and/or a jig head hook with a minnow.  Bet that was an awesome time out there!

In some certain situations, absolutely! Doing the wacky, how can you not, so simple and yet probably one of the most effective ways to do it. As of the last 2 years or so, I do this weighted wacky technique, I understand also known as the flick shake, I guess there is some other names for it to but... also just super simple, same idea just got alittle weight to it. I throw it around wood alot is where I find it to be really affective. I don't throw a non weighted Texas rig alot, really at all... but when I got in my mind to really start learning how to bass fish, my first and still to this day go to Texas rig is a Berkeley 7 in motor oil or camo colored power worm. I adjust the bullet weight then to what I want to do with it. Here's a pick of those "flick shake" hooks.

This is a neat one! Alot of my lakes I fish by me have alot of floating vegetation and then really really soft mucky bottoms. I can see this as being a different way of attacking my fishing environment. So your fishing it as a drop shot technique then or are you also using it as a finesse punch rig, fishing your way up from bottom? Mainly how do you use it! I've never seen this before.
