If you can find some drop offs or ledges a deep diving crankbait 10-12 ft would start to work later in the day after the topwater falls off. I would also look at a swim bait, soft jerk or stick (like Blat said). Everything else you said is on point.
I don’t fish in a kayak so I don’t know how much/fast you move around but this is what I would do in a boat.
