Mack Toon , I probably went a little overboard on mine. If I was strictly fishing for bass after dark I would have taken your approach on the lights. I've always heard bass don't care for the lights...and they don't hang out in view when they are on. But they do come in like torpedos and pick off the bluegill and other baitfish.

It's not too hard or complicated. Plan everything out before you start drilling any holes in your Kayak. Know where you're going to keep your batteries (and how many). I run the green and blue lights on one battery, and navigation lights on another. Below is  a list of stuff needed.

Light strips that are rated for water. I picked mine up at Academy Sports and Outdoors in the kayak section. https://www.academy.com/search?searchTerm=led%20light%20strips

Deer feeder batteries (12v) they run about $20 a piece

wiring and switches (usually can get at Walmart and or autopart stores

electrical connectors. You'll need a variety for splicing and connecting to your battery and switches.

Drill and a set of small drill bits. (You'll want to use the smallest you can get away with and wire still go through).

Silicone to cover any holes you have to drill that are subject to water. Kinda optional

Time. I can't emphasize that you plan before you start. Build time is going to depend on it.

Also reduces my chances of getting run over after dark.

I am so looking forward to fishing against you. You were the guy to keep up with last year. I'm going to do from the bank on the first one(during spawn) and then maybe I'll put the boat in the water.

Are you sure that wasn't a game warden? They're pretty sneaky down in Texas

Central Texas here. Don't know the water temp and the fish don't turn stiff when you catch them. Had some good rain. Feeder Creeks are a bit muddy but main puddles are pretty clear with 3-4 feet visibility along the bank. Regardless of warmer air temps, I don't see any bluegill or little "wolf packs" of small bass cruising the shallows. Really odd to have higher temps and no fish activities. (and FYI the Bass Forecast app says we're in spawn 🤔)

Christopher Bowman medium heavy you say? I'm going to have to go to the website and have a look. I don't recall a medium heavy except for the salt series and dock skipper.

What is the actual question? I fish a couple local puddles and I'm really known on Fishbrain and get asked for advice all the time from complete strangers. I get stopped in Academy, Walmart, etc..

Mack Toon I hope we have the tourneys again. I missed the first one last year.

Christopher Bowman which 2 did you get? I can see they are spinning and KLX but that's as much as I can tell from the pics.
