Thanks! I hear that a lot we get a bad reputation because of New York City and the surrounding areas. I feel like most of N.Y. is country farm areas and we have a lot of nice lakes and rivers. The big busy cities most of us try to avoid.

I see that often also. I also see a lot that look like they have scars on them so I assume they survive attacks like that.

Thanks for the information. I would definitely install a trolling motor. I’m not sure that this one river allows motors that’s why I was wondering about paddling. There’s a dealer about 2 hours away that have those in stock, and the hobie ones but they’re way more money.

I assume you have a trolling motor for that? Have you ever had to paddle it? Does it move pretty easy paddling or is it difficult. I’ve been thinking of getting one for some trout streams that are too deep for me to move further up stream. I’d like it to also be used for creeks around here that I can’t put my boat in.

My favorite is docks and trees in the water for river fishing. Grass around them is ideal. I like to use soft plastic craws/creatures/frogs on a weighted hook. They skip well, pretty weedless and they sink slowly. I wish someone made a weighted hook that wasn’t EWG, because a lot of fish do get off on them. Also chatterbaits and spinner baits around them work very well for me. I fish this way probably 75% of the time. Oneida lake is more crankbait, jerkbait and jigs around grass is where I’ve found success.
