Just a heads up guys. Hurricane has wrecked our town. There’s no power and roads are shut down. It may be several days before I can communicate here in the app. There’s some content scheduled to go live but i won’t be here to answer and questions. There’s no cell reception as well. 😑
Hey SUF Fam,
Just checking in how everyone is doing post storm.
We're in Ohio and we got the very end of it and it was still pretty intense out there for us so I can imagine what some of our southern states are dealing with. Sending you all our thoughts and I hope everyone is safe!

I had an absolutely amazing tournament day on Lake Champlain!! My boat ran great. My homework, preparation, and taking advantage of opportunities on the day paid off with a 21.08 lb mixed bag of largemouth and smallmouth and a 1st place win. Thanks, Brian Latimer for SUFSchool over the past year.
What a great memorable day!
What camera equipment/setups are the SUF’ers using to capture fishing footage on your boats?
Am I the only one that struggles throwing a frog. Over and over it’s always the same thing. The bites are there, but I cannot set that hook. I lost more than 5 my last outing before I went back to my traditional baits; soft plastics, spinners, cranks, etc… BUT that dang frog!
I totally debated about posting this, as I'm a complete rookie this year. If I can help someone, however, this will be worth whatever embarrassment I may feel.
So yesterday, I was fishing my favorite pond near where I live. I have seen everything from small bluegill and crappie, up to a 33lb carp ( I didn't catch it, but I helped the old man down the bank net and weigh it)! In fact, my PB bass was caught there, which is the one in my picture. I was throwing a Neko rig on my spinning setup, and hooked into an absolute giant! I fought him and got him right near the bank, he jumped, and when he landed, he hit the bank, snapped my line, and got away! I still picture that jumping fish in my mind even today. He looked like one of those trophies you see on the wall.
I couldn't believe that he snapped me off...braid to fluoro leader. My knot survived, but he straight snapped my leader. After sitting there for a couple minutes, I decided to check my drag. My drag was SO tight! I hadn't used that combo in a while, and completely forgot to check it. Hard lesson to learn on what would have been a personal best...
So always check your drag guys and gals! I'll certainly never forget!
Boy Oh Boy I did it now! So I had a reel go bad on me a few weeks back and went out and replaced it with a Daiwa Tatula, I will not by another reel again by far best I ever fished with even My SLX and Lew's PRO by far! Those Are two I got now Love them so smooth cast amazingly highly recommended!
If you watched the live yesterday’s let me know what you saw please
I just stumbled across an oldish YouTube video, "Ike Live" with BLat and family talking about Brian's story.
It's good stuff. Also good to hear the REAL experiences of becoming a tournament angler.Â
Though I'd post up a pic of my little boat. Not sure how many canoe anglers are here, but here's my heavily rigged Scanoe. Started as a temporary measure, but has become our trusty ol' boat. Takes me and my youngest on many adventures every weekend.
