Yeah I don't know what the story is with the place, and there's a boat landing. I don't know how I've never heard of that place having that. I've done a ice fishing fishery event on crystal lake right beside that, not to long ago with my cousin that lake is apart of the event if you wanna fish it. We'll I know its there now, 😆

It's different, fun place for sure.  Went back the next day when the wind was a bit better and adjusted my gear set up so I could move around more efferently with all the branches and debris in there and picked that place apart!  Bass all over!!  There is a lot of that dead standing timber that covers the border of the lake to so there is cover for them fish to hide in.

Check out Fish Lake, in Roxbury.  It's close to Sauk City, right about in the middle of you and I. Google earth it once!  Electric motors only.  Kind of a wild area, a lot going on in that spot. 

I had a full load out the day I scouted the place out, to many trees, had to lay everything down and it was windy, couldn't stay still, couldn't really use the motor in there either.  Went back the next day with the right gear and picked that place apart and had a blast doing it!  Had a really good couple of days at that lake.

I think the " professional " thing to do is a 1, 1000 count...  But when that bite is happening, well I just tend to pull the trigger!!  I got about 3 weeks till that bite is going to be anything up this way, can't wait!  I like to put a little nail weight into the back of my frogs that gets that tail end down into the water just a tad bit more than stock and that seems to really help my bite hook ups even if I get a little bit more jumpy on the hook set!  Also, I like cutting those leg strands down a bit, between 1.5" to 2" max. length is my personal preference.  Oh that's such a fun bite!!

Oh yeah, usually comes flying out and wraps around all my other rods in the back of the Yak!  😂

I'll just throw this out there because I made this mistake being a new member of KBF and their format.  This may not apply to you, but maybe a good habit to get into when going over your check list of things.  Make sure in your phone settings, when taking your photo, that the picture is tagged for the location your in.  I caught myself in this predicament very recently and learned the hard way because my setting was off and I may loose 2 fish because of it, but now I know!
