I was fishing jordan lake

I saw some bait fish schooling and something changing them. So I tied on a 3” suspended jerk bait cause the bait looked small

I like the idea of a SUF podcast.

I got it perfect! Exactly what I wanted/needed to hear.

Blake what a GREAT story and encouragement!

However now I feel like I need to add a little color to help give context to my question.  I'll try to paint with broad strokes. 😉

First apologies to BLat and SUF community for stepping outside the lines of fishing specifics.

I also have been busy helping raising 4 daughters for the last 30 years with personal interest taking a WAY back seat to responsibilities at hand.  We finally got them all graduate out of college and out of the house this last couple of years and as you can imagine those personal interests are still there. Lucky for me my wife is an amazing, beautiful person and is very support of my goals.

The true heart of my original question is "Am I simply too old to start down this path?"

Thank you all for the positive feedback.

Dang Brian.  You're slaying em.

Thank you for that. Awesome encouragement.

LMAO,

 Dude, I LOVE your honesty.

To be honest it pique my interest because I do NOT enjoy spinning reals. In my defense I'm trying to adapt, but.....

More often than not, I trim my skirts to the hook.  Recently I've been turning my trailer vertical to present more like bait fish.  Ironically still using crawfish type trailers.

I am interested to understand how seasonal changes impact how we fish jigs.  Jigs are in my top 3 favorite baits to use. Recently I put a skirt on a swim bait head with a grub trailer and caught a largies dragging across pads.
