It depends on your retrieve.. you can slow reel it and itll slowly swim along, searching.. or, you can chop, chop, chop reel it, making it glide left and right.. ill actually do both retrieves on a cast, and also reel it really fast for a few feet.. like its escaping.. and ill pause it also, a lot of times theyll hit it on the pause...
