Brian Latimer I think lake blue ridge in north Georgia might be the closest smallmouth lake, it's 3 hours from me... might have to make that trip sometime soon..!

Brian Latimer Shoal bass definitely are fun to catçh.. but it does take some work to get to them sometimès.. fighting rapids, dragging kayaks over shoals, doing floats where you leave a vehicle at the bottom ramp, and launch at the top one... I'd say it's worth the battle to get to them, but at 63 yrs old it can be a lot sometimes...

6'10" medium fast /12lb fluro (bc)

7' medium heavy fast 50lb braid (30 & 50) (bc)

6'6" medium 15lb braid w/ 10lb fluro leader (sp)

I'm surrounded by them. .. Smallmouth are on MY bucketlist...!
