John G W. I know when I catch a 2lb smallmouth it feels like a 5lb largemouth. That water you fish in seems a lot faster than what our smallmouth live in so I can’t imagine the strength a 4lb bass living in that water has.

Yes in NY. Fishing from a boat. It Is three rivers that connect three lakes, onondoga, Oneida and ontario. Typically let the current take me down and use the trolling motor once in a while to move me closer or further away from shore depending on wind. I did have a rod with a buzz bait tied on but I never tried it. I’ll mix that in next time.

Congrats! Those are some nice catches. That sounds like a lot of fun, and hard work. I’ll have to add that to my list of things I’d like to do someday.

I would also talk about patience and understanding you might not catch a fish on some days while learning. Ive been there it can be discouraging. YouTube makes it look like if you buy this bait u can catch a fish every cast, don’t fall in to that trap. Most importantly fish more for real life experience and if you watch videos watch informational videos like in the SUF app.

Nice catch. I remember my son when he was young was always in the trees. And I’d move out away from trees and he’d have the line tangled around the pole. Like you said frustrating at the time but funny memories to look back now. Cherish every moment.

I thought I read somplace on your page that you needed 2+ events to do the championship. Does that mean I can’t sign up for it? Or can anyone do it?

Definitely had to adjust to it compared to the fishing chaos app. After using it a few times its simple to use.
