First day back in the Everglades. Threw an SMH most of the day. Was an unusually slow bite today. Got a decent amount of Largemouth. Then I threw a Jerkbait on and landed this Gar. Measured with a marked stick at about 28”. Don’t even think about handling these. Nothing good can come from trying.

A couple of skunked trips were shaking my confidence. Tonight, I got two smallies, I think the first ones of 2025.

Last tournament. Not a great day and had a game plan on some new water. Weather forecast changed that morning and didn’t make adjustments fast enough. Smaller one was on a whopper plopper in the morning and then went looking for offshore structure in the depth I was seeing fish. The bigger was 4.75 on an offshore stump. Lesson learned.

Crazy to say but never really got into fishing with a jig. Decided to go to the local pond to give it a try and went with the trusty PB&J. Got two and the first one DEMOLISHED it. My friend told me a jig bite is awesome and man he was right.
That was fun!

Dipped a line in my local reservoir and fished clay bottom flats with laydowns.

45 degree water on the Great Lakes, Erie specifically . Blasted em. How do you think we caught them? Destiny Siguenza was on fire!

Had to go back out to my neighbors pond and put on a little clinic yesterday afternoon.

Has anyone ever had this happen? Maybe there was some flashing or issues in the manufacturing process. But water was able to get into the top layer of the bait. Threw me for a loop when I saw it. Thought I snagged a dang marble hahaha!

Potomac River fishing over emerging grass in 58 degrees water. Topwater and crankbaits.

Not catching quantity today but caught few around this size today…. This one on a crank bait. Having a beautiful day on the water
