Had a fun day today fishing in our club tournament on Saratoga Lake. I have not fished there in about a year. Ended up getting third. I was junk fishing with a 3/8 Jewel Bait jig with Berkley Chigger Craw using my 7' MH Fast rod on docks, weeds, and lily pads. Used ZMan 1/2 oz Blue gill spinner bait with slim Keitech green pumpkin paddle tail for a couple of undersized ones and a couple of pickerel. I was also fishing with a senko on the docks and caught one. I caught most of them very shallow. I had two good ones on, and I horsed them too much; they may have gotten me into 2nd or 1st. It is actually nice to turn off FFS and just focus on the visual stuff.
This week I got to fish with some of my fishing club buddies on the St. Lawrence River. I really enjoyed my time with them fishing for fun and slight competition. Some wanted to catch the most fish and me, I wanted to catch big fish. I had a ton of fun fishing a crankbait. While I did not catch the most fish I did catch some quality fish and improved my PB Smallmouth to 5lbs 7oz. Sometimes you need to just fish in a way that makes you happy. I am thankful for the BLat knowledge and my boater who was willing to try something different. š
Hey Kevin Skovenski š£ļøCHALLANGEš¤£
Had to bring it home she got hooked to deep and didnāt recover.
I saw a little cove off the main lake and idled back to escape a wake boat. I noticed a slight water flow. Found this 25.25 inch in 5 feet of water tucked up against a concrete wall.
Who else is ready to catch some Crappie? Or should I say āspecksā lol
Did some fun cranking today on the St Lawrence River. Caught this PB Smallmouth at 5lbs and 7 ounces. B.Lat has taught me well.
Today marks 3 years to the day I caught my PB (9lbs 2oz). My casual approach toward bass fishing went away in the blink of an eye. I've been on a pursuit for a double digit bass since. It's been pretty much an obsession since. Fishing nearly 365 except storms with lightning.
Who else can remember their pb like it was yesterday?
SUNDAY sheenanigans.. got a few that were board worthy.. was a decent bite ..fish here still being lethargic.. have to finesse them into biting
