Follow up from Mark Jonas and I fishing the team tournament on the Madison Chain. The day for us didn’t go as we hoped, but still had fun and a good learning experience. Had a good number of bites in the AM on a Crankbait, Chatter, and Buzzbait. But once the severe thunderstorm rolled in our bite died. In hindsight after the storm I think we tired to force the shallow (10ft or less) bite too much. Even with finding unblown out water. The field did well fishing deep weed edge 15-20ft and it was cool MLF Pro Steve Lopez was there fishing against us. Takeaway from this is, don’t get stuck in a technique because it worked in practice or for part of the day. Adapt with the fish. Already looking forward to next years team tournament!

New team format for BFL’s announced for 2027.
Big O Tournament this Saturday. I won’t take my Falcon to Okeechobee when it’s too shallow. Was going to sit this one out. Turns out I’m going on someone else’s boat to help another boater that didn’t draw a co-angler. Plan is 3 rod simple. Top water, crankbait/Jerkbait and speed worm.
I’m gonna jump in the app this morning and answer some askBLat questions this morning. Feel free to listen while you work today.
