🤯 Well, now what?! Practice definitely threw me a curveball! I found some great spots in open water, but then got lazy and tied on a black swim jig with braid (even though I thought it needed to be fluorocarbon). Surprisingly, I landed a 5-pounder and a 6-pounder! They completely ignored anything that looked like a shad or shiner. Feeling really blessed to have a successful practice and a solid area scoped out for the tournament!
Fished a club tournament today. This Win is for you Tron. #Adversityisdope #LLT
Today’s live was one of my favorites! Confession time… I haven’t caught a bass on a worm in 20 years…. I love power fishing! I even consider jigging a small minnow or swim bait power fishing! I have always heard the preaching about matching the hatch…. but your point about a worm, creature bait, or lizard has nothing to do with matching the hatch.
My question: how much do you consider what other people on the lake in high-pressure situations are fishing? Is there value in throwing something the fish aren’t seeing every day?
Does the weather, water temp determine where the bait goes? Do blueback herring move to cooler water? Would they locate in shallow water in the creeks because the water is cooler? I'm a newbie, just got my first boat so all of this is a challenge to understand. Also, I'm in grovetown so my lake is clarks hill. I do appreciate your simplistic approach it really helps.
We NEED TO HAVE AND UNDERSTAND THIS CONVERSATION AROUND MATCHING THE HATCH…
Great questions submitted today about color selection and around fishing pressure. I'm addressing those today on a live class in the app here at 12 pm. Don't forget to submit your questions here in the community!
Brian if you haven’t named the spinnerbait you are creating a name that honors Tron would be pretty freaking cool. Just a thought bro.
