Finished 3rd at Lake Anna for my club tournament today with 5 fish for 10 1/2 pounds. Lake was 75 degrees, 20 mph wind gusts and clouds in the morning. Bass are chasing shad so I used a wake bait above the thick hydrilla grass in the back of coves.

grouped up schools suspended, minnow above, through, or hopped up near them would not make them compete for a bite. I swapped to the flutter spoon and they activated almost instantly pulled the school and 3 missed so I let it fall past the misses and the bigs in the school attacked and she was big. 5lb 3oz, 21.5in

What tells me more about what should work…my lure or my retrieve? I found another good one this afternoon. Different lure this time (Zman willowvibe head with 4.5 Spunkshad). I picked it up after working a lipless crank bait for an hour in same area…no bites. The retrieve was to cast up to bank and work it up and down off bottom into deep water…bass would hit it falling or while laying on bottom. Does this tell me I should be fishing a different lure?

After listening to Brian and finally figuring out my favorite techniques I do well. Gave me a plan to execute. Here’s a little bit of what’s going on in Anderson SC…. Figured out after watching a ton of Bobby Barrack footage he explains the soluner a little bit each time you watch him fam. B can you ask him what calendar he uses when studying Solunar? Trying to put it together, so far the moon is so good. I’m killing it and having a blast! Thanks B-Lat and Bobby Barrack.

A couple of 1.75-2lb spotted bass caught on BFS reel and ultralight rod on a Lucky Craft LC 0.5 squarebill. I know that not an "appropriate" crankbait setup but it sure is fun and between yesterday and today I caught probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-30 little spots on that exact setup!  Most of them were very small - half a pound to 3/4 lb but a few respectable ones mixed in. But they were all a lot of fun on ultralight tackle.
I was going to post a video of me catching one of them but it seems the upload video portion isn't working.
I don't have this video uploaded to YouTube yet, but I have started a little YouTube channel. If y'all would check it out - I'd appreciate it! I just do it as a hobby for the fun of it. And I'm still learning how to do everything, so don't be too hard on me! But I will gladly accept constructive criticism!

Hey everyone! Trying to gain some confidence in the neko and the jighead minnow. Yesterday’s conditions looked like they would line up for it so I put my head down and managed to grab a few small ones! Bites on the neko came from getting it as close to bridge pylons as possible and bites on the minnow came from slow rolling it off of a bluff wall. Hoping to target more offshore structure with these baits once I’m confident in them.
